Vern M. Christensen, DPM, MPA
Dr. Vern M. Christensen was born in Southern California and received his B.S. degree in Zoology from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He furthered his education by receiving a Masters of Public Administration degree with an emphasis in business/government relations in healthcare from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University. Traveling east he obtained his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine degree from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Florida. As a medical student, he was voted President of the Florida Podiatric Medical Student Association and received numerous leadership awards. Upon graduation, Dr. Christensen completed his podiatric surgical residency with Florida Hospital in Orlando Florida. Board certified in both podiatric surgery and wound care, Dr. Christensen specializes in all aspects of medical and surgical treatment of the foot. Areas of interest are sports medicine, limb preservation/reconstructive surgery, and the diabetic foot. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Society of Podiatric Surgeons, American Professional Wound Care Association, and American Academy of Wound Management. Dr.Christensen is a member of and involved with the American Podiatric Medical Association and Mississippi Podiatric Medical Association. Living and practicing in the Amory area since 1998, he is actively involved in many organizations and enjoys volunteering and contributing to the local community. Married with 3 children, Dr. Christensen's personal life is filled with family, church, and sporting activities.
